How it works

Grab a ticket to this year’s Bread & Jam Festival on 14th - 15th July to be in with a chance to meet buyers on the hunt for the next big thing. Apply online from 9th June to each individual retailer (you can apply to as many retailers as you wish). Applications close on 7th July. All eligible applications will be sent to the buyer, who will select the brands they wish to meet in person. If you’re successful, you’ll have 10 minutes to pitch to them on a one to one basis at the Festival in the Pitching Zone. You’ll find out via email on 10th July if you’ve been chosen. You must have a Festival ticket to apply.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Application Process

  • You can apply online on this page when applications open. You must apply individually to each retailer you want to pitch to.

  • Applications open on 9th June.

  • You can apply to as many buyers as you wish.

  • Buyers will receive hundreds of applications, so the best way to make yours stand out is to be concise, direct and cater to their remit. Take note of any specific criteria they have provided and do your research, so you know who their customers are and why you’d be a great fit.

  • ALL eligible applications will be sent to the buyer after applications close. Applications are sent in a single spreadsheet, so you’re guaranteed to get buying eyes on your brand. Due to the high number of applications, applications from brands without a ticket will be removed without notice. So please make sure you have a Festival ticket before you apply.

  • Applications close on 7th July. Any applications that are received after this date will not be passed on to the buyer.

  • You must have a Festival ticket to apply. If you are applying on behalf of multiple brands, you must have a ticket for each one.

On The Day

  • A pitching slot is a ten minute, one to one meeting with a buyer.

  • All pitches take place in the Pitching Zone, next to the content rooms. Your showguide will have a map.

  • Please check in at the Pitching Zone 10 minutes before your pitch.

  • You’ll have 10 minutes with the buyer as soon as you sit down with them. You’ll be told when you have less than a minute left, so you can start wrapping up the conversation.

  • There will be a table in the Pitching Zone where you can prepare.

  • Space is super limited at the Festival, so please don’t bring roller banners, display tables or fridges. You can bring samples for your pitch if you wish but you must keep these with you for the duration of the event. You can bring a laptop with a presentation if you wish but we do not have any plugpoints.

  • You’re most welcome to bring your cofounder or anyone else to your pitch. They must have a Festival ticket to gain access. Email us for a discount code for additional team tickets.

  • All pitching slots are allocated in advance, so you won’t be able to jump in on the day. Head to the Producers’ Shop to put your products on display there.

The Waiting Game

  • Applications will be sent to the buyer after 7th July. Applications are sent to the buyer in the order that they were received.

  • You’ll receive an email confirmation from Jotform when you submit your application. Please check your spam before enquiring with the team.

  • You can’t change your application but you can resubmit. If you want to change something, simply resubmit your application and the team will remove the old one. Please note that the team will always submit the latest application received from you.

  • After submitting your application, sit back and relax! You can also start preparing for a potential pitch and look into the other features of the Festival this year and how you can make the most of it.

  • If your application has been successful, you’ll hear from us on 10th July with details of your specific pitching time slot. If you have secured multiple pitches, you’ll receive individual emails for each one. Don’t forget to check your spam in case there are any hiding in there!

  • If you don’t get any pitches, don’t worry! There are plenty of other opportunities to engage with buyers at the Festival including the Tasting Panel, the Indie Walkway and the retailer stands in the marketplace. Unfortunately due to the high number of applications we receive, we aren’t able to share any feedback.

  • You’ll have just ten minutes with the buyer, so it’s worth thinking about how you can prepare a short pitch that covers who you are, what the products are and how you can benefit the buyer. We’d recommend leaving plenty of time for questions from the buyer and time to arrange a follow up plan with them.

The Follow Up Afterwards

  • Please ensure that you secure the buyer’s contact details during your pitch. We are unable to facilitate any conversations after your pitch.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to share any contact details for the buyer.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate conversations after the pitch. If the buyer has indicated that they would like us to share further information with you, we must await email confirmation from the buyer before releasing any details.

  • Unless expressly requested from the buyer, we do not send your details to the buyer after your pitch.

Lucie Cousin - Bath Culture House

We got listed at Selfridges thanks to Bread & Jam Festival! We were selected to pitch to Selfridges and had a 1:1 meeting with the buyer. After this, they asked us to meet with the buyer again. We then went through a period of working alongside the Selfridges technical team to prove that our products were safe for Selfridges to sell to their customers and we delivered our first order to Selfridges in April 2023.

Eugene Patterson, Revibed Drinks

Securing our listing with Virgin Atlantic was a result of our participation in the Bread & Jam Festival, which allowed us to pitch to retailers, including Virgin Atlantic, where our pre-mixed superfoods concept captivated the buyer, impressed by the innovative approach and uniqueness in the market”
